  Personal Training

By providing a mobile personal training service, we are able to help people squeeze exercise into their busy schedule, rather than them having to find the time and motivation to go to the gym. We bring all necessary equipment to the venue and aim to keep the training, fun, functional, and focused on specific goals.

Everyone is unique, and the exercise and nutrition advice that we can give at SmartHealth reflects this. One of our key objectives is to keep personal training, personal. This means we will work with you to agree a fitness program that fits with your lifestyle and your targets, whether you are a novice or an elite athlete.

Clients have included retired poeple, single mums with no time or chance to get to the gym, company directors, people that lack the motivation to get to the gym, people that lack the confidence to train by themselves, and of course people that hate gyms or have wasted too much money on membership in the past.

Although many people want to train to look and feel great, a specific event acts as great motivation for people to push their training that little bit harder. We are currently training people for cycling holidays and the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge. One client is already planning ahead for the London Marathon in Spring 2010 after completing this year's Great North Run.

  Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Does the trainer come to me?
Yes, that's the beauty of it all. SmartHealth fits into your schedule. Normally you would need to allow a couple of hours to go to a gym and train. Because we come to you, you have time for fitness before work, during a lunch break or while the kids are at school or creche. You can even train with your baby in the same room.

Q. Do I pay extra for nutrition advice?
No, we will give you advice about healthy eating free of charge. Nutritional therapy sessions look at helping resolve specific health conditions which can be dealt with seperately if you require.

Q. Do I need any equipment?
No, we will bring all equipment to the training venue. If you do have any we shall try and make good use of it so that you can include it in any additional training sessions that you may do on your own.

Q. Can I train with a partner?
Yes of course. It makes it less expensive for you that way as well. To get the most out of the session though it is best for you to check that you are of similar levels of fitness or that you like doing the same kind of training.

Q. How long do the sessions last?
Normally 60 minutes. Ask about prices for a longer session. Some people do two hours!

Q. Isn't personal training for movie stars?
No, anyone, young and old, novice or experienced athlete, can benefit from a personal trainer. More and more people, are working with personal trainers because they offer a practical and affordable means of getting fitter and staying healthy. If you think that it seems expensive, consider that many poeple waste far more money on gym membership that they never use.

Q. What happens next?
Our head trainer Keith Edwards will come to the training venue (usually your home) for a free chat which lasts about 45 minutes. This gives us the chance to find out more about your goals, experience and medical history, and it gives you the chance to ask questions and decide whether you wish to procede.

  Recommendations

Training with Keith has been a pleasure! He is considerate but will push me when needed. I am without doubt the fittest I have ever been thanks to the training regime and I have much more energy as a consequence. But the truly best bit is he comes to the house- no childcare issues, no intimidating Gyms - genius!
