What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional therapy involves taking a detailed look at your symptoms and considering how they relate to what you eat and drink. By changing your diet, and more specifically your nutrient intake, we create a health improvement plan for people for whom conventional treatment alone may not provide the complete solution.

Nutritional therapy is not a sledgehammer approach which we use to bash your symptoms and it is not alternative medicine. Instead it is a holistic approach which looks at mind body and spirit to help you make the right dietary choices to improve your health.

The Therapy Process

To start the process you will normally be asked to complete a questionnaire and a food diary. We will explore your symptoms and health concerns in more detail at your first consultation, and provide a health improvement plan that you can take away to action. This will include recommendations about which foods to eat, and may include suggestions as to any supplements you should consider or which tests can be done to help monitor change. A second consultation is normally appropriate to see the progress you have made and review changes to the health improvement plan.

  Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Where is the Natural Health Centre?
5 City Business Centre, Basin Rd, Chichester, PO19 2DU

The centre is between the railway crossing and the Post Office sorting office. Parking is available at the front of the building but please use visitor parking.

Q. How long do the sessions last?
The first session lasts up to one hour. We will review the questionnaire which you are asked to return prior to this first session and work together to agree a plan aimed at achieving your health goals.

Follow-up sessions are scheduled to last 45 minutes and give us a chance to review progress, make any changes to the plan, or look at any other health concerns that you may have.

Q. How many sessions will I need?
That depends very much on your condition. Our goal is to improve your health as efficiently and effectively as possible, but some changes, such as hormonal rebalancing take longer and one or two more sessions may be required to give you the support that you need.

Q. Are you professionally qualified?
Yes, Keith Edwards holds a Diploma in Optimum Nutritional Therapy and is a member of BANT, the British Association of Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy.
